Explore the United States Facts Activity

Use this activity to explore the geography, the people, and lots of facts about the United States. Many individual state pages also ask you to find similar information about your home state. There are lots of questions that require calculations or comparisons. By the end of this project, you should have discovered a few facts about each of the states and lots of information about your home state.

Directions: Print the map of the USA. Print the worksheet. Each web page is a set of question clues to a state. Research each fact. Enter the answer on the worksheet. Identify the state the clues are describing. Write the number (located on the web page) in the corresponding state's outline on the map. Some states are small. Write the number in the margin and draw a line to the state’s location on the map.

Some links are given to a site where you can find the answers. You will also need to find the answer yourself using an Internet search engine or directory. The number links at the bottom of each web page match the question/state numbers. Use them to jump to a specific set of questions.
