US Flag Patriotic or National Song Photo Story

There are many songs related to patriotism and our nation. Some are connected to holidays, many are not.

1. Poll your class: What is your favorite patriotic song?

What percentage of your class selected your favorite patriotic song?

(Need help with percentages? MathFLIX free online Videos | Khan Academy free, online math videos)

2. Select a song or piece of music related to patriotism or a patriotic holiday.
Make a digital photo report about the song/music.

Look into the history or the story of the music and lyrics. Search on the Internet.

Include:

The composer and the date it was composed or how old is it.

Is there a special story about the song?

Who is credited with the most famous playing or singing of it?
Example - I think Ms. Whitney Houston's performance of the Star Spangled Banner was extraordinary.

Illustrate the song or make a slide show to the music using photos.

"A thoughtful mind, when it sees a Nation's flag, sees not the flag only, but the Nation itself;
and whatever may be its symbols, its insignia, he reads chiefly in the flag the Government, the principles, the truths,
the history which belongs to the Nation that sets it forth. Henry Ward Beecher
