Making a card in ClarisWorks/AppleWorks is easy by Cindy O'Hora

You can buy one of those expensive card making programs, but my second grader made her own valentines in Drawing and so can you. Spend your money on a clip art collection.

Envelopes: I purchased the envelopes for these cards at a local business supply store. They work just fine for regular 8.5 x 11 paper. They are called Baronial and measure 4 3/8" by 5 3/4".

Start by taking a store bought, two fold card. Open it out flat. You will notice that the folds divide the card into four quadrants. The upper left quadrant (the front of the card) has a picture and text. These are both upside down and probably backwards. In the lower, right hand quadrant you see the flowery message.

To begin:

1. Open a new drawing page.

2. Click 2 times on the smaller mountains, resize view mountains at bottom lat corner of AppleWorks windowat the bottom left corner on the window. You will notice that the whole page shrinks. Use this tool to resize the window smaller so you can see the whole effect or to increase the view to work in a certain section.
