Make your own card in ClarisWorks/AppleWorks - part 3 by Cindy O'Hora

7. Size:

If the picture is too big or too small you can adjust it to fit your needs.

1. Click on the picture to get the handles.

2. In AppleWorks 4 & 5 Go Arrange .. Scale by Percent. Entering 50 x 50 will drop the image to 1/2 its current size. I go by 75's, unless I see a drastic shrinking is needed.

3. In AppleWorks 6 Go - Arrange .. Scale by Percent.

4. You can also rezise by dragging the handles.

8. Click once on the picture to turn on the handles. Go Arrange..Transform .. Flip Vertically.

(If you are working with ClarisWorks 2, the tools are the same. You'll need to look for the Flip Commands under Arrange without the Transform.)

9. Check that the person is looking off the page to the left. If they are not, Go Arrange.. Transform.. Flip Horizontally.

Add text to the front

10. Click on the text tool.text tool button

11. Click 1 time on the page and a text frame box will appear. Type whatever you want to say. Adjust the size, style, & font. When you are happy with the text, click on it with the arrow tool to get the text box handles.

Repeat the above process to flip it vertically and horizontally. Your text will now be upside down and backwards.

Oh No!

Note: If you need to make adjustments to this text, click inside the text frame box. It will present your words turned around to a readable order. Make your revisions...save...click outside the text frame. It will revert to upside down and backwards. ;-)

If you are working with ClarisWorks 2, the tools are the same. You'll need to look for the Flip Commands under Arrange without the Transform.

Remember to save (command key symbol... s) your card as you make changes!
